For decades, the well-known 1-kilometer-long Hiukan beach has been located in the heart of Sotkamon kirkonkylä. It's an ideal spot for the whole family to enjoy a swim, as the beach is shallow and the bottom is made of fine sand. The beach also features a grill kiosk/summer café and toilet and shower facilities. Right next to the beach is Sotkamon's famous baseball stadium. Admission is free. This is a must-visit destination in the summer.
