The Maritime Museum operates on the waterfront of Kauppatori in the attic of the Empire-style building, which previously housed the sail loft of Wendelin's shipyard. The museum provides insight into the demanding sea voyages from Kristiinankaupungin to the farthest reaches of the world and the tragic fate of numerous shipwrecks.
