The Musical Forest - a forest full of instruments. The Musical Forest is located in Suomussalmi, 110 km north of Kajaani and 145 km south of Kuusamo. You can find the Musical Forest from Kaunisniemi, about four kilometers south of Suomussalmi's city center. Turn from Viitostie to Lomakyläntie and continue for about three kilometers to the summer theater, where you can find the signs to the Musical Forest. There are also signs guiding you to the Musical Forest at the intersection of Viitostie and along Lomakyläntie. Recommended age: +1 year. Free admission. It's worth visiting here all year round (comment: we visited here in autumn, and although snow may hinder access in winter, the place is otherwise open all year round).
