In Helsinki, a summer ferry from Laajasalo takes you to Vartiosaari in about 1 minute. Vartiosaari offers a nature trail that surrounds the entire island, and during the summer, you can see sheep grazing there. The landscape of Viikinkikallio resembles Koli, and the island also features a stone cairn, a forest church, and it's possible to rent saunas with birch branches from various associations. The nature here is breathtaking! During the summer, there are also a few pop-up cafes on the island, one near the dock and the other on a rocky area that you'll pass by on the trail. The trail is not suitable for bicycles, so you'll have to walk or take a leisurely stroll with the island's residents. Recommended age: +2 years. Partly paid (ferry fare). It's worth visiting Vartiosaari: in the summer.
